New Listener Application

Would you like to receive a weekly copy of the local Talking Newspaper recording for your area on a high quality CD-ROM disc which can be played on your home CD player or a USB memory stick which can be played in a home PC or a dedicated MP3 player?  If you are now living in another part of the country you can still apply for a free copy of your selected Talking Newspaper recording.

If you would like to join as a Listener, please complete the  Listener application form and submit to us either electronically by clicking the 'Send Email' button or print a copy of the form and send it to us by post.  If you live on the border between two of the areas we cover you can request two different recordings.  You can also indicate on the registration form the media you would like your recordings on, either Compact Disc (CD) or USB Memory Stick.

USB Memory Sticks

The provision of News recordings on USB memory sticks commenced in April 2009. These can now be provided as an alternative to CD, though CD's will still available.

USB Memory Stick

The main advantage of a USB Memory Stick is that it is reusable many hundreds of times and holds much more recorded information.  Both the monthly Magazine and a Weekly News recording are recorded on to just one memory stick.

The USB Memory Stick contain what are known as compressed MP3 files which can be played on your home computer (providing you have speakers or headphones attached) using windows media player or  alternatively it can be played in a dedicated MP3 player which is lightweight, small and portable.

If you are currently an FATN Listener and you would like to try a USB memory stick please call our office on 01252-719266 and leave your name and telephone number and say that you would like to receive your recordings on a USB memory stick.  Alternatively complete our Enquiry Form to ask to change to a USB memory stick.

If you do not have a computer or MP3 player we can supply a suitable USB player which incorporates two loud speakers and is operated from batteries or a supplied mains adapter for £22 each or, in some cases we may be able to supply one on free loan.   MP3 players are also available from Argos which include a CD player and radio for £25.
